The BSA offers a series of awards, studentships, and fellowships to support research of all types and at all stages of your academic career.  Descriptions of each award can be found by clicking on the individual link. These listings also show whether an award is currently open and to what deadline. Calls for applications are posted on the front page as deadlines approach.

School Teacher Fellowship

Open: Yes

The School Teacher Fellowship at the British School at Athens is offered each year to enable a teacher to pursue a project in Greece designed to enhance their teaching (for example by researching a course, preparing teaching materials, visiting sites or using the Library). The Fellowship is non-stipendiary, and includes one week of accommodation at our Athens or Knossos base and an airfare up to £300, and may be taken at any stage of the academic year by agreement with the School Director.

Arts Bursary of the BSA

Open: No

The British School at Athens (BSA) and Camberwell, Chelsea, Wimbledon Graduate School embarked on a new joint initiative in 2015/16.  An arts residency in Greece, supported by a bursary (to a maximum value of £2,500) and with studio and accommodation provided, is offered to practice-based PhD students at Camberwell, Chelsea and Wimbledon annually in each of the following three years.

Centenary Bursaries

Open: Yes

Applications are invited from university graduates of Greek or Cypriot nationality for awards to cover the expenses of a stay in the United Kingdom of short duration for a specific project of study or research in any field in which the British School is active.
