The palace of Knosós and its surroundings - 3D virtual reality tour

West court

The west façade of the Palace is indented where windows would have been placed on the upper storey. Public ceremonies, such as harvest festivals, could have taken place here, observed from the windows. An altar lies in the north-east of the court, with the so-called kouloura, further west; these were circular, stone-lined pits, perhaps used for the storage of grain.
