The IT department has been supporting the computing infrastructure and developing the uses of information technology in all aspects of the School's work for over a decade.
The IT department facilitates research at the BSA in a variety of ways. The School provides redundant high speed ADSL internet service to keep researchers connected. Terminals throughout the library enable access to our online library catalogue AMBROSIA. Regular members have access to the copy room on the second floor of the Library offering paid colour and B/W laser printing (use of the facility available upon request to the Admissions Secretary). Both regular members and readers can make use of the workstations in the Kollakis Wing of the Library for general research and paid B/W printing. Wireless access in the library and hostel allow members and readers to use their personal computers to access the internet and carry out their research.
The IT department also supports the Library in delivering E-Resources to researchers (see Library & E-Resources) as well as the development of the Museums and Archives Online (MAO) database which unifies the collections of the Fitch Laboratory, Knossos Stratigraphical Museum, Athens Museum and the Archive of the School (see BSA Digital Collections and Communications).
