The BSA is open to individuals of diverse interests through a variety of routes.

Become a reader

You are eligible to become a Reader if you are a post graduate researcher in Hellenic studies. This includes all members of the Greek Archaeological Service and Foreign Schools based in Athens.

Readers can use the library Monday to Friday during office hours.

Membership of the School allows 24 hour access to all of its library facilities, use of the Finlay common room, accommodation in the Hostel, and is also necessary for those who wish to apply for permits through the School to work on archaeological material in Greece

Funding and Intership

The BSA offers a series of awards, studentships, and fellowships to support research of all types and at all stages of your academic career.  Descriptions of each award can be found by clicking on the individual link. These listings also show whether an award is currently open and to what deadline. Calls for applications are posted on the front page as deadlines approach.

Anyone interested in the work of the School is warmly encouraged to join the Friends of the BSA, either in Greece or in the UK, and thus helping to support its work and community
