BSA Arts Researcher in Residence 2026
We are very pleased to announce that the BSA Arts Researcher in Residence (BSA/UAL partnership) for 2026 has been offered to Abbie Vickress.
Abbie Vickress is a graphic designer, researcher and facilitator exploring knowledge generation and distribution in public engagement and cultural spaces. This critical approach manifests through printed and interactive design, exhibition design, curation, writing and facilitation of workshops and events. During the BSA residency she will be concentrating on the impact and opportunities of plural narratives for contested artefacts. She is currently undertaking a Technē AHRC funded PhD in Pluralist Exhibition Design Methods: Anti-colonial graphic design in ethnographic museums with Afterall, a Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts London research centre exploring the value of contemporary art and its relation to wider society. It specialises in 3 registers of art production and reception: the individual work; its exhibition or public display; and its dialogue with social, political and theoretical contexts. Abbie teaches and guest lectures widely at HE undergraduate and postgraduate level, and with museum learning departments.
