New Publication: The Archaeology of the Cyclades in the Roman and Late Antique Periods
Rebecca Sweetman’s new book, The Archaeology of the Cyclades in the Roman and Late Antique periods, has recently been published by Cambridge University Press – congratulations Rebecca!

Rebecca offers a fresh interpretation of Cycladic societies across the diachronic period showing that the islands were dynamic and vibrant in the Roman and Late Antique periods. She visited every single one of the inhabited Cyclades to visit all the known archaeological sites of these periods which allowed her to include a gazetteer of the Roman and Late Antique sites.
Rebecca’s work was supported by many people, including colleagues at the BSA, the Εφορεία Αρχαιοτήτων Κυκλάδων Ephorate of Antiquities of Cyclades and the School of Classics, University of St Andrews. Dr Sophia Zoumbaki and Dr Dimitris Athanasoulis were particularly helpful and Rebecca’s husband, children and pals have now traipsed nearly all the islands too! This work was generously funded by a Major Leverhulme Award.
Now available on the shelf in the BSA Library and via Cambridge University Press.
