Christina Nakou: creating a mosaic, courtesy of the artist
Based on the ancient technique of mosaics, the conversation between the Director of the BSA Prof Rebecca Sweetman (expert on ancient mosaics) and Visual Artist Christina Nakou approaches concepts such as making, wear, durability, corporeality and transformation to highlight the importance of the inclusion of our senses in the daily experience of our “cosmos”. They will discuss the importance of tactile experiences of archaeology and art for well-being. Their dialogue focuses on the materiality of mosaics and on the observation of this handmade technique, offering an original experience of time.
