Ceramic Petrology Course 2026
This May, join the BSA Fitch Laboratory for a hands-on training course in Ceramic Petrology. The course is designed for participants with no or limited prior experience in petrology, although familiarity with archaeological ceramics (or related materials) is essential.
Highlight include:
• Microscopy & thin-section analysis
• Provenance & technology of ceramics
• Intro to elemental analysis & XRD
• Field trip to Aegina
The course is organised as a collaboration between the Fitch Laboratory (British School at Athens) and the Keramos Research Group (Department of Geology, University of Patras).
Course dates: 19 – 29 May 2026
Location: Fitch Lab at the BSA, plus a field trip to Aegina
